How To Sell Your Products Using Affiliate Marketing (And A Big No-No)

Honesty. Consistency. Being persistent.

These 3 traits are definitely needed on a mental level. Get your mind right is foundational.

On a marketing and actionable level, it’s a different ball game.

There are many ways to sell products using the affiliate model.

First things first.

You need to get your own sales funnel traffic ready.

What’s traffic ready?

Branding YOU and Congruency

Well, if you chose the right affiliate program, you’ll have access to compelling creatives and promotional marketing materials to use.

I talk more about the 5 things you need to know before partnering with any affiliate program here.

So, if you are equipped with this material… It’s time for you to edit it and make sure you insert yourself into that funnel.

How do you do that?

The best way to do that is to make sure your funnel is congruent with the sales page of that company.

Make sure to add a “bridge video” of you thanking that person and then talking about the offer you’re recommending.

Here you want to make it personal.

Tell a story about your experience with the product. Of course, make sure that you chose the right one!

“You should know what your audience loves better than anyone else. So take the time to explain why this particular product is a good fit for them.” — Niel Schaffer

You could create a video or blog post to explain your thoughts so when you send your audience to that sales page, they’re ready to buy.

Email your list using a timed campaign. Another way is to email your list and ask for a reply about the product. This way you’ll know if it will resonate with them.

If you don’t have a list yet, that's ok, it’s part of your sales funnel. The first thing you’ll ask for is the person’s email.

So, this will take time.

Big No-No: What Not To Do

Taking people from the traffic source to your affiliate sales page.

Please, if you’re selling someone else's product, don’t go straight to the program's own sales page.

It’s not branding you!

You are removing you as the human element.

The people from your traffic sources, especially if it’s cold traffic, will not know you or want to have anything to do with you.

They don’t care about you.

They care about how the product will solve their problem.

The key here is to show them and tell them how this offer helped you.

This way you are branding yourself and you’re building rapport with them. Getting them to know like and trust you.

I hope you guys learned a tip or two with this. I know it’s very basic.

But simplicity is key with an online business.

If it’s not simple, fun or lucrative… I wouldn’t want to do it!
